Players

Please see the attached performance squad for the first half of this season, congratulations to those players. This group of players will now work with Julie, Tim, Ed, Fraser and Myself until the Christmas break when the player pool will be reviewed. These players will make up the majority of the 1st team and some of the 2nd team however this does not give them any advantage in selection and if you are playing well in any other team you are able to move up the club. All this means is that the performance squad players will access the guided S&C with Julie and Fraser and additional skills sessions with the coaching team.

Each week the performance squad will have S&C sessions on Monday's and Friday's, rugby coaching sessions on Monday and Fridays, with a team run on Tuesday's. Up to Christmas these players will be reviewed on performance and commitment and changes will be made to reflect this, so it is for all other players to work hard and push them for their places.

Starting from next week Julie will be putting monthly S&C programmes on the club website for all non performance squad players to follow, please do follow these remember you are all potential 1st team players so you need to be physically at the right level. This is the beginning of a very exciting season for the club, I am writing this email with a clean sweep of victories for all teams this week so let's keep the hard work going. The right club ethos is hugely important and we need to have the right mix of competition and camaraderie so we need to support each other and push each other for positions.

All teams will be posted on the website tomorrow for 12th October, which throws up one very exciting fixture in that our 3rd and 4th team play each other and our fresher's are playing their first game in the intramural league at Cochrane park.

I would also like to congratulate Henry King on being awarded the 2nd team captaincy.
